Wondrous Omnipresence of God

Translation

Question: “O My happily wedded friends!

pray give me some Tidings of my Beloved

I am bewildered to hear

the different accounts of Him

So tell me something of Him

Some say that

He is altogether beyond this world.

Others aver that

He pervades all and everywhere.

His colour is invisible,

His features cannot be made out,

So, kindly tell me the truth of it,

Answer: “He lives in everything

and dwells in every heart.

Yet he is not blended with anything

and nothing contaminates Him.

Listen, O people!

He abides on the tongue

(that is, in the words) of the Holy.
