In Raag Maru V
The life eminently successful in listening constantly to the Name Divine lies.
The drink that to the mind brings fulfilment
Is quaffing amrita-elixir of the Name (1).
The food that all hunger banishes is by content to be filled to satisfy.
The best of apparels consists in one’s honour by the Supreme Lord being protected -
Thereafter is one never disrobed. (3).
The best of enjoyments quaffing in holy company,
Joy in God lies. (4)
Without thread and procument of needle
Should the heart with devotion to the Lord be stitched. (5)
Those by absorption in joy in God inebriated,
Never more feel their intoxication ebbing. (6)
Such all the treasures have attained.
As by the the gracious Lord are granted. (7)
Saith Nanak: Joy in service to the holy lies -
Behoves it one to sip wash of feet of God’s devotees. (8) (3.6)
